Fine Arts Introduction Waxahachie ISD emphasizes the importance of the arts and encourages a strong performing and visual arts program at all levels. WISD provides a comprehensive arts education in the four arts disciplines: dance, music, theatre and visual arts. We invite you to attend our performances and visual art shows.   Dance WNGA Maidens Cherokee Charmers   Music WISD boasts award-winning choral and instrumental programs. Through preparation and performance, students learn musical skills such as interpretation, pedagogy and basic theory. In addition, a wide variety of musical genres encompassing many historical periods and cultures are explored.   Theatre WISD offers a well-rounded theatre curriculum. Waxahachie High School theatre curriculum includes Introduction to Theatre, Acting, Directing, Dramatic Design, Children’s Theatre, Dramatic Literature-World Survey and 20th Century, and Theatre Production.   Visual Arts WISD art curriculum is conceptually based and sequentially developed. It focuses on aesthetics and art history, along with studio production.
